Obituary For Raymond Ryan

In Loving Memory of Raymond Kenneth Ryan

Raymond Kenneth Ryan, born May 30, 1942, in Peekskill, New York, passed away on September 25, 2026. A longtime resident of Cortlandt, New York, Ray was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Ray is survived by his son, John Herder of Fort Worth, Texas, and John’s wife, Shelby Herder; his daughter, Joyce Collins of Reston, Virginia; his grandson, Nathan Collins; his sisters, Linda Ryan and Barbara Cozzi; his nieces, Lisa Cozzi, Melissa Rodriguez, Anna Rodriguez, Estee Rodriguez, Catina Bowman and Lorraine Rutherford; his nephews Benjamin Cozzi, John Cozzi, Jason Ryan, Alfred Ryan, Jr., George Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Ryan Rodriguez, Robert Ryan, Mike Ryan, Czar Ryan and Anthony Scordia, Jr.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Williams Ryan; his grandson, Aiden Herder; his brothers, George Ryan and Alfred Ryan; his sisters, Kathy Ryan, Marion Ryan, and Marsha Scordia; his nieces, Kathleen Kirkpatrick and Rachael Pailleret; his nephew Vincent Evangelisto; and his beloved dogs Soupbone and Heather.

Ray was well known throughout the Peekskill and Cortlandt area for his lifelong love of billiards, a passion that brought him competition, friendship, camaraderie, and countless cherished memories. He was also an avid poker player. Whether holding a cue or a deck of cards, Ray enjoyed good company, good conversation, and a little friendly competition.

In his final years, Ray was fortunate to have the love, care, and companionship of Lisa Cozzi, Ben Cozzi and his wife Lisa, and John Cozzi. Their kindness, support, and presence were a meaningful part of his life, and they will always be remembered for the special role they played in caring for him.

Ray will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched.
