André F Salaun, a Putnam Valley resident for 65 years, passed away on January 8, 2024. He was 97 years old. Andre was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and camping. He had served as chief of the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps for many years. He retired from the Putnam Valley Central School district as a bus driver and mechanic.

André is survived by his wife Gloria to whom he had been married for 72 years. André is also survived by his daughter, Irene Bruno, and his son John Salaun, and by 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was well known and was loved by many. He will be deeply missed by his best friend Ray Stillson, and by his beloved dog, Missy.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 4-8 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, January 11th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by interment with military honors at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley
